i wear my sunglasses at night

or should i say i wear my sunglasses in the daytime. at the gym.

true story, i walked by the treadmills and could have sworn i saw a girl wearing dark sunglasses as she walked. these werent just any sunglasses, no no. in no way could they be mistaken for anything other than someone being a tool.

these werent reading glasses, prescription glasses, or any other type of glasses. no. they were like raybans, though im sure the cheap 5 dollar kind, almost like in the movie "men in black." and oh yea, did i mention.. indoors?

so i ignored this to the best of my ability. i kept walking. tried to put it/her out of my mind. and then i was done with it.

until i was sitting at my desk, and she walked by. not only with them up on her head- but actually down over her eyes. she walked around because i think she thinks its acceptable to be her. but its not. not when you do that. if she ever read this blog i would deny it to the death. id say "no way, i wasnt talking about you dear. lots of people wear glasses like that indoors. purely coincidence."

but lets face it, who does that? i mean really now.

obnoxious.

treadmills, and those who should not use them

so today at work im minding my own business, just relaxing during my few moments of peace- and suddenly chaos strikes in the form of a treadmill.

lets back up for a second and clarify. the treadmill wasnt the chaos, it was a man. chaos in the form of a man. more specifically, though, his feet (combined with a slight weight problem perhaps). this man had apparently never used a treadmill, nor did he take the time to clean his ears enough to hear the thunderous pounds of sneaker on mechanical cardio equipment.

for those of you who dont know, roughly 220lbs of human smashing into an elevated plastic/metal object in a large open space does tend to make a little ruckus. weird.

at first it didnt register. funny noises come and go, accidents happen, whatever. after about a minute, i started to perk up, and look around at what danger was coming my way (survival of the fittest.. which little known fact i was much more fit than this stampede). the noise kept going. and then i saw it. a man, running in place at the same pace. i was instantly angered.

i then looked around to see why no one was telling him to stop. i guess these days, its better to not offend someone who is doing something so ass-backwards- rather than to save everyone else from having to listen to their blatant disregard for proper use and common courtesy.

nothing.

eventually, all good things must come to an end. so the man stopped, as he wasnt in the best shape and obviously could only last so long. but wait! the story isnt over. once he paused, momentarily, he must have told a friend. a friend of equal running ability. so now, the dynamic duo began their journey, a journey to fitness.

as im starting to feel comfortable in my silence again (and by silence i mean strange combinations of miley cyrus and paul wall, aka lets sing about "grillz" yo) the 2 men start running. and the thunder couldnt have been any louder. i thought by this point, someone would speak up. am i the only one looking on in horror? i think i was.

eventually it stopped. but honestly, i was too annoyed to be happy.

long overdue

one more thing, before i crawl back into bed for a while today.

i have been slacking on my random video posts and i deleted some of my older ones.. not to mention some of my old old posts that id uploaded, i no longer have on my hard-drive, so sadly no throwback video blogs.
sorry for all of that.

but the good news is my schedule is calming down a bit, so i'll be able to film more frequently again. and also, im starting a short film of sorts. and production will resume soon.

until then, check out the older videos, blog posts, flickr photo albums, and twitter posts.

take care all.

people you may know

i shot a video a few months back expressing my distaste for the "people you may know" feature on facebook.. however, today, i decided to revisit and friend request all the people who were on that list. why? lets call it a social experiment.

on another note, though, that "become a fan" option better get out of here. fast. i'm growing quite sick of looking at my screen and seeing people i might know mixed with flip flops and sex.. i mean, great combination? yes of course. i love it.. but not via online. thats just pointless.

well isn't that surprising

coming on to make a few adjustments this afternoon, i see that i have a new follower.

for me, this has been a roller-coaster ride of emotions today (specifically the past few minutes). at first i thought, "oh wow which one of my friends has actually gone through the effort to follow rather than just checking here and there." so when i clicked, to my surprise, i saw that it was not a friend at all (before today at least, now we're gonna be best friends obviously). instead, it was a random person of which i know nothing about- other than one very important thing.. our language barrier. if my facts are right, which i think they are, she is located in brazil. and her name is ketlyn.

her blog can be found here but dont get too excited, unless you're cultured and speak other languages- which sadly i am not and i do not.

trying to figure out her blog title "da ultima folha" i did some reseach. da and ultima seem pretty straightforward, but when we get to "folha" i get a mishmash of terms.. i could be any of the following: leaf, sheet, newspaper, periodical, sheet metal, tin, tin plate, or blade.. since there are several hits for paper or periodical, and blogs tend to be a source of news/info.. i ASSUME her blog must be the ultimate source of news.. however, it might be "the ultimate blade" which DOES concern me a bit.

disclaimer: i will not be doing this for everyone who follows my blog.

my idol

hands down, the greatest short film trailer i have seen ever.
razmig's senior project.
he is my idol.
enjoy.

values anyone?

So I just got through speaking to a client about her newfound engagement. I congratulated her, to which she responded "eh, we'll see what happens."

Last I checked, getting engaged means something. To those of you who it doesn't, there's no place for you in this world. There's no reason to make that commitment, or take that step if you don't mean it, or you doubt it, or anything.. If you have any thoughts other than complete excitement, maybe even some nerves as to the fact that life as you know it is suddenly about to change- then don't do it.

Meanwhile, she explains how they knew each other and this and that.. Including that her previous marriage didn't work out, and that he was widowed 4 years ago.

I just don't get. This isn't about lovey dovey crap, really. But what happened to things meaning something. I'd like to think if I found someone and married them, whether they're alive or dead- I'm done with all that. Its me and them. there's no grey area. Otherwise, why bother. What's the point.

I said there's no place for these people in the world, but maybe in todays new "openminded" and "accepting" society there's no place for me.

Entitlement in society

So in the past few days, I've been getting increasingly more and more frustrated with people. I don't know who started this whole "customer is always right" business, but whoever you are- let me thank you.

To a certain extent, the customer CAN be considered "right" and that should be expected.. But when taken to an extreme (as it is in most every case these days) the customer is an asshole. I don't know how customer service, aka being kind and polite and assuming guilt in a situation to which this third party (in this situation the customer) may not be at fault.. This covers things like accidents and misleading representations, perhaps. It does NOT, however, cover things like having a stick lodged firmly in your ass- causing you to reek havoc on the general population.

Now I get it, you're entitled to your opinion. These employees are here to provide a service, matter of fact they're getting PAID (YES, real money! Usually a whole 7.50 even!). So sure, do whatever you want, its their job. Right?

Wrong.

If you think you have the right to speak freely on these matters, think again. These people are here to maintain a business model, usually retail. A model that you do your best to destroy. Leaving trash and items that you've discarded. If ever questioned, you'll explain that they're supposed to do this and that.. And someone needs to explain you're a child. Grow up.

This goes for you too, people who aren't in a store. Do you think someone needs to be where you want them to be 24/7? You can be late, or unprofessional, or a ____(insert cuss here)___ because you paid? Let's consider what you paid, or the lack there of. Do you think your 20 dollars buys you the right to talk shit and complain, ordering other people around, not applying the rules to yourself all the while? I don't.

new video

so finally i have sorted through the hour or so of mother's day video footage that has been sitting around for a while now. here is a summary of the day, minus when the waiter at CPK sang the "5 dollar foot-long" song when i asked for a table for 5.. dont know exactly where he thought he was (subway maybe?) but i just stared blankly back at him. kudos, sir. enjoy.

almost bedtime

ahahah i just needed to put this up before i went to bed.
"If my vag had twitter, what do you think it would say?"

LOVE this.

The trouble with sandwiches

So I haven't had a multigrain bagel in some time now. I guess in my brief intermission from these baked wonders, I had forgotten the issues that would arise due to my snacking.

happy mothers day

so today is mothers day. so as the title says, i'd like to wish a "happy mothers day" to all whom this applies.

it was a fun day. i woke up bright and early, confused as i seem to be lately as i look around- wondering about doorbells and whatnot. so i met up with previously mentioned mother's day celebrator (might have just made up a word), my sister, my brother, and mary. i was a bit hesitant to go on this excursion, but i went against all better judgement and decided to make the best of it.

i filmed here and there, nothing amazing. but i do have a plethora of video to edit into a cohesive mini documentary about today.. whether or not it does the adventure justice, only time will tell.. stay tuned for that as well as some pictures.

good day.

meatball madness

let me just start by saying, why do all the great names for things like bands, movies, places, and maybe even people seem to be wasted (or squandered)

squan·der (skwndr)
tr.v. squan·dered, squan·der·ing, squan·ders
1. To spend wastefully or extravagantly; dissipate. See Synonyms at waste.
2. To fail to take advantage of; lose a chance for: squandered an opportunity to go to college.
3. Obsolete To scatter.
n.
Extravagant expenditure; prodigality.

i'm suddenly reminded of this by a band called "meatball madness." now its no secret that i love meatballs, and its also no secret that that band probably sucks, and when i say "probably" i mean "definitely. and when i say "definitely" i mean "i listened and i feel like there goes 30 seconds of my life i can never get back."

thats all beside the point, though.

this morning i woke up with ribbon in my pants. how did this happen? i have no idea. nothing crazy happened last night, and nothing entered or exited my pants region- so i'm absolutely baffled how theres a long strand of green ribbon wedged right in there. confusion aside, the ribbon is now removed, and i can begin my day properly.

Oh no, wrist patrol

So I think I hurt my wrist. It feels like things are misalligned and/or hollow? So that's pretty fun.

I just did a workout with a firehose, believe it or not.. Now that I think of it maybe that's what busted up my wrist.

Its still been a good day, though.
Definitely looking forward to the weekend.

I think my life would be perfect with a day of laying around, ramen noodles, tv and movies. Mmmm.

Yo Gabba Lover!

For a while now, I've been saying, "I'm gonna go find my YoGabbaGabba SWAG." So today, what happened? Guess who, my favorite. That's what happened. I'm so excited.

This is the best day EVER.
I'm blown away.
I <3 Broby
Totally the coolest.

music at the gym

I like songs that tell a story, or have a message- something that makes me think.. Anything really. Alot of songs, though, just make me think "Wow, this was a mistake" or "How on earth did someone think this could be considered lyrical content, ever?" And maybe even "Right now, it would be better if I didn't know a word of english. Especially not the ones strung together here, used to express such beautiful poetry."

Not you though, Lil' Wayne, because you are music.. Or so I've read.. So everyone else? Clean up your act. Immediately.

I'm done sitting at work hearing about ms jackson, or anyone whose name includes "pussycat" (though I DO enjoy that loosen up my buttons business). And that means you too, Paul Wall.. Even though your teeth ARE gleamin' like you're chewin' on aluminium foil.

Oh and screamo? Consider yourself warned. Just because I don't have the time to deal with your dragon-like noises today, does not mean you're in the clear.

To the lucky few..

It all started today at lunchtime approximately 10am. I cooked my food for the day this morning- leftover rice/pasta/nut mixed with some ground meat and hot sauce.. Ps AMAZING after waiting an eternity.. Anyways, yea- I cooked at 7am. Packed everything, extra protein, whatever I needed. And then i left for work.

Forward, now, to 10am. Where is the _______ fork??? Ok. Fine. Problem solved, I'll go look up front rather than in this skeevy spanish cabinet. Which, little known fact, I'd rather use a dirty glove from the lost and found before I EVER touched anything that may have ever been in my co-workers mouths.. Or worse.. Gross.

Anyways.

Up front? No forks. No spoons either, which I later realized would have been so much better than a fork.. But no, nothing.

So I was going to check the nearby restaurants, which don't open until 11am? What kind of crap is this? I mean REALLY.

Long story short, there's now a small population that witnessed me stuffing this interesting mixture into my mouth with my bare hands.. And when I say that I mean pretty much being innocent bystanders to what can now only be called rice and hot sauce all over my lap and face. Mmmm. Yea.

the celebration starts now (but by no means ends at midnight)

so yea, its like midnight-ish. i want nachos. immediately.

here's a history lesson.

happy cinco de mayo.
enjoy.

where's my meatloaf

definitely rocking out to meatloaf right now, so call that what you will.
i'll call it awesome.

it's very late, and tomorrow is going to come very quickly.
part of me thinks, "not quickly enough." and the other parts of me, the more logical and rational (and much less exciteable) parts, think "oh god."
so anyways.

today was good. very eventful. for more reasons than i care to explain right now.
but lets see what i will explain:

1. job stuff. a lot of it.
2. deodorant down my whole shirt. a fashion statement, really.
3. bandana hat, enough said. more on that some other time..
4. fake mustaches and ramen noodle pinata (which, btw, sounds amazinggg right now AND doesn't seem to be spelled correctly)
5. coat-hangers with near magic powers, including creasing shirts and frisbee-ing
6. the word margarita. mmmmmmmmm.
7. the thought of a new work shirt. makes it all worth while.
8. jesus h christ

and last but not least

9. sitting on a table for like 2 hours. because apparently thats what we do.

bedtime now, though.
today was a good day :)

free time

So I'm currently sitting here at work, waiting for my 10am client. I'm assuming she's a no-show seeing as it is already 10:10 by this point. I have been convinced for some time now that the woman nearby smells like a marijuana factory, and has spread that odor throughout the gym.. However she's gone now, and the smell still lingers. Who is the culprit now? Old lady on the lower back machine, I'm looking at you. Bold move ma'am, I must say.

Will someone else buy this?

a little while back, i had read about this new little gadget.
i saw the picture, and immediately i was hooked.
the concept is dumb. and the use is very limited.
but if i had someone else (assuming i liked them) who had one too, how great would this be?

i'll answer for you.
REALLY great.

also, if it wasn't so expensive.
i can think of so many other things i'd like to spend that on.
so thanks, nabaztag. but no thanks.

The Goat

i havent even tried to sleep because i've been too busy.

why? well right now even if i was trying to sleep, there's an obnoxious cat that sounds like it's dying. is it? no. at least not that i know of. but if he keeps this up? my answer just might change.

also, though, i stumbled across several old pictures on my computer which got my goat

ps i just looked up that phrase, because it boggles my mind, and apparantly legend has it (yes legend) that horses used to be accompanied by goats in order to calm them down- i believe in the racing world? who knows. but anyways i guess people would steal (or GET) their goat, which would rile them up.. wow, the things you learn.

so the reason i have been "gotten" tonight is mainly because i remember peoplemaking such a fuss when i used to work out roughly 2 years ago. and my friend had been telling me the other day i was way too big, and started talking about my back and whatnot.. anyways i had brushed him aside just as i had brushed everyone else aside back then- until i saw these. now i remember being in good shape, but im in good shape now. seeing these pictures, though, i realize im about half the size i used to be.

so now im somewhat unhappy with things. which is funny because today i was quite content, as i have been for a couple years. thinking i was only slightly smaller.. but alas, the goat is gone- and tomorrow starts my old diet and workout plan. which means i need a new shaker bottle from gnc. something i keep forgetting to purchase.

Update

Nothing much to say tonight, i've just spent all day redoing the blog from the ground up.

This means a few things.

ONE. no old posts. this wasn't exactly intentional, but it wasn't intentionally saving them either. i pretty much came in, deleted all the old code and useless junk, and didn't feel the need to sift through everything and pick the good vs the bad.

TWO. new posts coming soon. i might do another ACTUAL post tonight, but its getting late, i'm growing tired, and i'm still not even finished the coding and layout of the blog, or any of the other things i had to fix in order to get the links working.

THREE. new video on the way. Quite frankly i wanted to tonight but i am too tired to go through all the setup and transferring/editing process. ALSO, i have even less to ramble and rant about at this hour... so you'll have to make do with the few that i have up.

Note: I tried to dig up the old favorite videos, such as "drunken beach night", "possible broken fingers morning", or even "the argument with the liquor store clerk," but sadly they are either on my other computer (which i doubt) or they got deleted somewhere along the way. regardless of whether or not those blogs ever see the light of day again, a few new ones will be on their way soon- and i'm slowly starting a more ambitious video project again. so we'll see where that takes us.

I guess I'm gonna go finalize some things, and perhaps head off to bed.
p.s. i apologize if i dont decide on a header tonight.
Enjoy, everyone.

Why on Earth

So i just came across someone unnecessarily posting that they had to study for some sort of test, via facebook.. Which little known fact i'm going to delete mine as soon as i get my site up and running but that's another story entirely... So yea, anyways. I'm most annoyed just at the fact that i even read this. i mean, clearly they had to inform everyone urgently (in my mind they're shouting it from the rooftops) of this groundbreaking, earth-shattering, remarkable new invention known as studying. thank you so much, my day has improved drastically.. not to mention, i'm proud of you. kudos, sir.

anyways, back on point. the test was a series of letters, which only make sense to someone in that same field- or someone lacking all common sense, causing them to feel the need to google it.. either way, i'm so glad to hear about your random unknown exam. and i wish you good luck.. or "GL" as someone felt the need to respond with.. which makes me ask, why on earth do we instinctively feel the need to respond to an acronym or secret code, with another acronym or secret code? and when i say "we" feel the need, i don't mean normal people.
